UNB had Bill MacGillivary back as coach and had very few player losses from the previous seasson. They added Steve Fraser and Frank Hubley and gave full time play to Jim Wickett. UNB finished third (11-5-2), losing two games to St.F.X. and going 0-1-1 against SMU. They took the second STU match 5-3 in overtime on a winner by Steve Fraser. The Red Devils had none of the scoring leaders, but got strong performances from Dave Wisener (9-20), Ian Lutes (11-12), Lon Mullin (12-10) and defenseman Don MacIntyre (4-18). Keith Lelievre was 9-4-2 (2.60) in goal and was a First All-Star. The Atlantic Tournament was held at UPEI (formerly St. Dunstans') and it was all over quickly for both teams. Only Lon Mullin was able to score as UNB fell to St.F.X. 8-1 being out-shot 35-19, while STU were out-shot 57-18 in a 7-1 loss to St. Mary's. St. Mary's beat St.F.X. 6-5 in the final...
