UNB Coach Pete Kelly had Don Morrow, John Sears, Galan Parent, Bob Soward, Currie McCarthy, Dave Beardsley and Hedley Savoy back from the Maritime finalists. They added two FHS stars in goalie Dave Inch and Francis Hughes, along with Frank Barteaux, Henri Girard, Norm Bolitho, Al Jones, Jacques Bourque and Jim Boland.
UNB had little diffculty with CNBHL teams, posting a 5-1-1 record and losing only to Devon. Don Morrow had 13-4-17 in the eight games, while Currie McCarthy (6-9) and Tom Jarrett (8-5) scored well. The Red Devils were without John Benson, Peter Coombes and Ted McElman who all played in the Intramural league.

In round-robin Intercollegiate play UNB expected to challenge again, but finished with a 2-3-1 record. They beat Mt. A 2-1 and St. Dunstan's 8-0 at home, but could manage only a tie against St. Thomas. Don Morrow again led with 3-4-7, while Galan Parent (2-4-6) and Tom Jarrett (3-2-5) did well.
